MADONNA, 67 — AND STILL TAKING OVER THE DANCEFLOORS

Madonna remains relentlessly active. Even if her newest music may not become timeless, she continues to command admiration as a feminist fashion icon, sex symbol and one of pop culture’s most determined women.

Her Celebration Tour was a spectacular reminder that, for Madonna, every detail matters. Elaborate choreography, dramatic lighting, striking costumes and perfectly timed movements transformed each concert into a carefully crafted show.

Forty-three years after Holiday made her a star, she still performs many of her greatest hits, including Erotica, Ray of Light, Vogue and Die Another Day. With 28 songs and a two-and-a-half-hour performance each night, the show is nothing short of a marathon.

At 67, Madonna continues to impress with her extraordinary fitness and stamina. Her six children remain an important part of her life and, occasionally, her performances. “My children are the greatest achievement of my life,” she says.

Her Celebration Tour was also a remarkable commercial success: 80 shows across seven months generated approximately $225.4 million from 1.1 million tickets, according to Billboard Boxscore.

Madonna may no longer be the only woman at the top of pop. Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish represent different generations of female artists. Yet Madonna continues to do what she has always done best: reinvent herself, challenge expectations and keep dancing — refusing to let age define her.
